SUMMARY

Pottery studio and guest quarters for an artist couple whose existing winter home occupied the only land elevated above the flood plan. Thus, this ancillary structure had to be designed to anticipate and withstand minor flooding. Reinforced concrete blocks form the base and support a timber frame containing all necessary functions a story above grade. Also meant to serve as quarters for house-sitter when owners are at their summer location.
